Australia’s FinTech regulatory map

FinTech Australia, an association for the new financial technology market, has created a tool for start-ups and global fintechs looking to expand into Australia. The regulatory map aims to make it much easier for overseas entities to expand into Australia and to help early-stage companies understand the regulatory regime.

The map provides information on the country’s financial services legislation. For a particular licence, the application requirements are listed, as well as the government agencies that must be involved and the relationships between them.

According to representatives of the association, the above-mentioned tool removes barriers for all types of actors, thus increasing pluralism in the market. New ideas and funds are also obtained for the local ecosystem, providing a new growth engine for the sector.

It is worth noting that a map of Polish FinTech, aimed at foreign investors, has also been created in Poland: https://www.fintechinpoland.pl/.

The Australian regulatory map is available on the FinTech Australia website: https://fintechaustralia.org.au/regulatorymap/.
