The Dutch central bank imposed an administrative fine on Binance Holdings Ltd
On 25 April 2022, the Dutch central bank imposed an administrative fine of EUR 3 325 000.00 on Binance Holdings Ltd (Binance). Binance was punished because it offered cryptographic services in the Netherlands without the legally required registration.
The Dutch central bank indicated that due to the fault and the weight of the infringements committed by Binance, the basic amount of the fine had been increased.
It is worth pointing out that a public warning concerning Binance was issued in the Netherlands already on 18 August 2021.
On 2 June 2022, Binance appealed against the fine.
