CFA calls for ethical AI application

On 19 October 2022, CFA Institute published a statement on ethical artificial intelligence (AI) application in the financial market: Ethics and Artificial Intelligence in Investment Management, a Framework for Professionals. The document presents a study on the impact of the use of AI and Big Data in investment management, including risk management, trading, and automated advice. The authors of the study emphasise that the use of algorithms for asset allocation, security selection and other functions should mainly serve the best interests of final investors and algorithm design principles should be transparent and explainable.
