EBA NEW Q&As ON PSD2

On 13 April 2022, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a new series of questions and answers (Q&As) relating to PSD2[1].

The new Q&As address:

  • contactless payments
  • batch payments, i.e. the possibility of ordering bulk payments through payment transaction initiation service providers
  • exemption on the use of strong customer authentication pursuant to Article 10 of RTS 2018/389[2]
  • grounds for account information service providers to block access of payment service providers to user’s payment account
